Dr Awesome Interview

For my first feature/interview type post, I present you @dr_awesome_1010.

They actually reached out to me and wanted to participate in this new thingy I am trying out and I was happy to have them on board! As you can see with the photos, they have really been such a fantastic job at making them stunning. I especially love the one where Darth Vader is using force on the Rebels. And the one where they made the speeder hover above the ground. Excellent work!!

Below is the "Interview" part of the post, where you learn more about them and what they are using to make the pictures they make and what they plan for the future of their content!!!

Question 1: How long have you been doing Lego photography and what got you into it?

I started about a month ago in a local forest area. I had seen other people do lego photography online and I decided to give it a go.

I had basic knowledge of how to set a photo up and using a few youtube videos, started to learn how and where to set up photos. It was and still is really fun.

Question 2: What Camera and software do you use?

I use a Huawei mobile phone to take my photos, just using the normal camera. And I use a free app called Photoshop Express to edit them. It is really handy, especially when I need to remove a wire holding up a figure or vehicle. My camera isn't the best quality, however I set it to manual focus and I can get great professional looking blur in the foreground or background.

Question 3: What do you foresee in the future for your lego photography?

I hope to collect more Lego Star Wars minifigures for more variety in my work. I also want to paint my own custom figures at some point, for example, custom clone trooper armour, which will allow me to personalize the photos a bit more.

Really, in that timeline I would hope to have gained more followers and more confident in my work as time goes on.

It has been awhile since this interview was posted. In that time, @dr_awesome_1010 has experimented with various techniques and edits. Which has made following them that much more entertaining and exciting because you never know what their next photo will be like! Below are some of the photos that I have personally enjoyed!

I appreciate the fact that they are trying different techniques and styles because it means they will always continuously try to improve themselves and their photos. In theory, this will only end with breath taking photos and I know that they will get to that point.

If you have the time, give them a follow and let them know they are doing a good job! They deserve it.
